hey guys

Hey guys, How are things? Life up is good. I passed my test for e-5 so the list should come out in January some time and soon after that ill make rank. Moving on up. Ive already started the steps for e-6 also. And im starting a program for direct commission. Im working towards an associates degree and after that it should be smooth sailing. I already have credits toward an intelligence degree so intel officer is what im working toward. That whole thing should take me about three to four years from now. So right when my first term enlistment is up. From nothing to officer in 6 years is the goal. Morgan and the kids are good. Looking forward to the snow. Its snowing at a couple thousand feet already and the mountains behind our house have a nice white blanket on them. A few more days and well see some at ground level. On average its about 37 degrees here but dropping fast. I leave for Baltimore on Jan 12th and it will probably take me about a month and a half to get there. Going through the canal should be fun. On the way home from there ill be stopping into Yorktown or something like that. I know its like a thirty minute drive from Virginia Beach where im going and ill be there for two weeks so hopefully ill get to see some of you. My whole trip is 6 months long so ill be around. Take care and ill update as often as I can. happy hollidays! With love, Ross

Hey Ross, it sounds like you've got some wonderful things going on in your life. How exciting. Yorktown is close to Va. Beach so we'll definitely come visit you and get you down to Va. Beach. Things in my life are not to well. After almost 30 years of marriage, mine has come to an end. I recently filed for divorce and am having to deal with that. It's not something I would wish on my worst enemy. So, this is an extremely poignant time in my life and I hope that one day, the sun will come out again.

In the meantime, you have a wonderful Christmas and joyous new year. Be sure to call us when you get back east. My home number is 757-481-3768, and the work number is 757-552-6012.

Love ya and can't wait to see you.

Tammy,

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through the divorce process. I say process, because that it is what it is in so many ways. I went through it myself, 5 years ago. I know that divorce is so many emotions rolled into one. There is hurt, loss of a dream, devastation, remorse, and many other emotions and feelings that rush through your head and body. I cannot make the pain go away, and it would not be healthy to have it all go away quickly.

The best advice I can give is to connect with others that you can talk to openly about what is going on, and work through the feelings. Feel every emotion fully, so that you can process it, and then be able to move forward in healthy way. If you have a church you attend, look for a divorce support group so that you have people who understand and can share with.

I did a lot of praying, crying, and thinking during my divorce. Commit to not dating for at least a year so that you can be in a state to make sound judgments. A rebound relationship just stifles the healing process and covers the wound instead of letting it heal completely.

Just know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and even though it may seem dark and difficult, God is with you, and loves you, and I love you, and will be praying for you. If you want to talk through anything, you can call me at 216-624-9767 and just talk. I am not one to give tons of advice, and I find that a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on is sometimes the best medicine.

Love,
Autumn Leigh
